Oh Glossy!

Oh Glossy!

This blog post contains a selection of my all time favourite lipgloss'. Ranging from soft nude to darker burgundy shades. As you can see from the image below with all of them included I do prefer lighter shades for lipgloss as I tend to wear them more over a nude lipstick compared to the darker shades. Hope you enjoy!

As you can see from the image above with all of them included I do prefer lighter shades for lip-gloss as I tend to wear them more over a nude lipstick compared to the darker shades.

The first nude shade that is one of my favourites is the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) golden gloss shimmering lipgloss £19.50. I have had this one for almost two years now and only wear it for special occasions like weddings or big events etc as I want to ensure I keep it good. I don't think ysl sell this lipgloss anymore which is another reason why I hardly use it. the high shimmering look is perfect over a nude lipstick and has long lasting wear and is also soft and nourishing on lips! If you do ever come across this lipgloss then I highly recommend picking it up even though it is a more expensive product.

For everyday wear lip-glosses I tend to go between the two Tanya Burr Lip-glosses in the shades afternoon tea (pink shade) and lunch date (peach/nude shade)
I like these as they are inexpensive, give off great natural look and also smell like strawberry laces - amazing! (Feelunique.com £6.99 each)

For a cheaper lip plumper effect lipgloss I recommend the avon plump pout. I have been using this for years and the plumping effect is great you can feel the slight tingle straight away to lips and also good for the price at £2.99.

I will admit the next lipgloss isn't my favourite in terms of the lipgloss product itself as I find it too sticky but the packaging on the other hand had me sold straight away! The C.I.D in shade I love the design of the mirror on one side of the tube and when you unscrew the applicator there is a light on the end! This is great for sticking in your handbag and to have on the go! Also only cost £3.99 at Bodycare.

These three l'oreal lipglosses are a favourite of mine due to the pigmentation of the product and how long lasting the product stays on the lips. Another reason I love these so much is due to the softening feel it gives your lips and almost feels like a lip balm. The L'Oreal colour riche lipglosses are available in a wide range of shades the featured ones on my blog are (601 - Nude ballet) (101 - Rose Melody) (304 Ruby Opera) and are £8.99 each.

The Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker are my current favourites. I love the lip lacquer which is in shade charm offensive and costs £7 for the pigmentation of the lipgloss and the high shine it gives to lips although it does feel a bit sticky. The Sexy mother Pucker lipgloss in shade pink apricot costs £9 and is a much lighter texture and not as pigmented colour but has more of a lip plumping effect and can feel it working on your lips to enhance the shape immediately! Each shade also has different flavour with this one being chocolate orange flavour is an added bonus. It is no wonder why it is a best seller.

New Purchases

Continuing To Add To My Collection!

This blog post includes my latest make up splurge when I went shopping with one of my closest friends in Glasgow, who was such a bad influence and encouraged me to spend so much...Thanks Melissa!
I went into House of Frasers in Glasgow & spend a good amount of time drifting through the make up counters and picked up products from Mac, Bobbi Brown & Ysl!

M.A.C

Here are the purchases I have recently made from MAC.

Lip Pencil - 'Hip 'n' 'Happy' soft pale pink shade works best alongside more pink tone lipstick. Soft textured pencil and has long lasting wear. ( £12)

Lipsticks - 'Craving' From amplified collection of the lipsticks it is more a soft sheer colour that can be built to get a darker rose shade and also has a slight plum shade to it. (£15.50)

'Diva' - Darker burgundy/red shade that is soft textured but finishes as a matte lipstick. One of my new favourite colours as I have been really enjoying the matte look lipsticks and it is a vibrant dramatic colour with long lasting wear. (£15.50)

Pigment Powder - 'Vanilla' I was recommended this buy the shop assistant to use as a highlighter and I am so impressed with this product as it is highly pigmented a warmer highlighter shade than their actual highlighters like lightscade but still natural and gives a glowy look. only small amount needed as it blends well. (£17)

Bobbi Brown

I have never owned a bobbi brown lipgloss before and it was my friend Melissa that introduced me to them and they are brilliant! Each lipgloss came in at a cost of £18.50.

Lipgloss - Bellini 14 High Shimmer - Light nude almost clear shade of lipgloss with lots of sparkle and shimmer throughout creating a a finish on top of some nude matte lipstick or just a simple look on the lips!

Petal 3 - Lovely light pink shade. Would be great for spring summer natural day time look as  its a great everyday lipgloss colour! Colour lasts long on lips giving high shine and luscious looking lips!

YSL

I heard many great reviews about the ysl touche eclat  radiant touch concealer and with a little influence I caved in and bought the concealer costing £25. I absolutely love this concealer from the packaging to the product itself. I purchased the shade 01 and feel it is great match or my pale skin tone as it blends in well. It can be used under the eyes, hide blemishes and red marks and also used as a highlighter across brow bone and lip line!
Great product although it is a more expensive product I think its worth the money and definitely recommend to try! One of my new fave beauty products!

Bronzer - Terre Saharienne - 02 Copper Sand - soft shimmer bronzer which is highly pigmented so only small amount needed. The shimmer through the product creates a lovely look when applied to cheeks to help give a natural radiant shine! Simple design of the packaging with a good size compact mirror included. (£35)

Out of the purchases i made I would say my two favourite are the diva lipstick by MAC and the touche eclat concealer by YSL. They are the two products I have used the most since buying them.

Bronzers & Blushers!

Beautiful Bronzers & Blushers!

This blog post includes all about my go to bronzers and blushers to either having glowy summery look or rosy cheeks!

Bronzers!

Ted Baker - Face Bronzer - Given as gift

One of my go-to daily bronzers as it is a lovely bronze shade with shimmer through it creating a healthy natural look to sweep across your cheeks! It looks great on sunny days to brighten up your skin! I haven't seen it in shops so unsure of price and where from but if you do come across its worth buying. Lovely rose gold packaging is also sleek and stylish!

M.A.C - Mineralize Skinfinish - Soft & Gentle - £23 (maccosmetics.co.uk)

Gorgeous shade with hint of shimmer through it that helps to highlight your skin. Creates a more natural looking glow to face and the shimmer reflects well against light creating a glowy look. Long lasting wear and very pigmented so only small amount need and blends well with other powders.

Benefit - Hoola - Bronzing powder - £23.50 (Boots)

Soft matte finish bronzer that looks great along cheek bones and jawline and bridge of nose to create more definition to face. It is highly pigmented so only small amount is needed for application. It's not my favourite of bronzers as compared to my fair light skin tone it is quite dark I think it would work better with medium and darker skin tones.

Collection - Shimmer Shades - Way to go! - £4.19 (Superdrug)

For under £5 this palette is a fantastic buy! Mixing the four shades together creates a soft natural looking tanned sun kissed glow to cheeks! or if you are looking for more tanned look you can just use one or two of the shades together. Doesn't have as long lasting wear as other products but for the price it is definitely a bargain!

Collection - Bronze Glow - Mosaic -Sunkissed - £2.99 (Superdrug)

Fantastic product for the price of it as it creates a glowing sun kissed look which is perfect for coming into autumn months still holding on to summer skin tone! The mosaic detail looks gorgeous and with the shades mixed together creates a lovely shade of bronze for a natural looking glow. A definite must have for only £2.99!

Blushers!

Stila - Baked Cheek Duo Pink Glow - £15 (Boots)

Gorgeous shade of pink when mixed together to create a lovely rosy glow to cheek. Also fantastic look if you just apply darker shade to cheek and can use lighter shade as highlighter. Soft powder that goes on skin well and has a slight shimmer through it. One of my favourites to wear every day!

Sleek - Blush in Pomegranate - £4.49 (Superdrug)

Fantastic shade for a more dramatic look and night time wear. Long lasting and smooth powder that goes on cheeks well! Highly pigmented product that allows you to create a softer or more dramatic look on cheeks. The product is available in a range of more neutral peachy shades to brighter purple tones. For under £5 I 100% recommend to try this product!

Benefit - Rockateur - £23.50 (Boots)

Beautiful rose gold shade that looks great as an everyday natural blush look to cheeks! Lovely smooth texture and gives cheeks a subtle shine with the slight shimmer through the product. The packaging also attracted me to buying this as usual with benefit products! Has long lasting wear and also has a lovely scent which is an added bonus. Definitely recommend!

Benefit - Hervana A Good Karma - £23.50 (Boots)

I really like this product as it can also be used as a face powder along side being just a blush. For a more subtle and natural look this is a great product. Swirl together the light, peach and pink tones to create a subtle soft rosy look with a smooth satin finish!

Urban Decay Naked Palettes!

Amazing Eyeshadow Palettes!

This blog post is all about my favourite go-to eyeshadow palettes - Urban Decay Naked!

The Urban Decay Naked palettes come at a price of £38 each. There are three palettes available Naked (featured), Naked 2 & Naked 3 (featured). They can be found on Urban Decay Website, from various Boots & Debenhams stores etc.

I absolutely love these palettes and are always my go to eyeshadows to wear! The pigmentation from the shadows are amazing and feel soft smooth velvety on eyelids! They last all day and night when wearing them and even the sparkle and shimmer ones don't fade! They also blend brilliantly together and easy to create a range of looks.

Naked Palette!

The first Naked Palette to be released by urban decay in 2012.
The Naked palette packaging is a dark burgundy velvet case that is long but not too bulky in size! It includes compact mirror and a shadow brush! The shadow brush is super soft and helps to blend the colours on your eye lid!

The set contains 12 shades in a range of textures including smooth matte satin sparkle & shimmer looks! It also has a variety of pale neutral tones but does have darker intense colours too. Great for creating a whole range of looks!

The reason I chose this set was due to the great reviews and can see why it is a best seller eye shadow palette! I also liked the shades in the palette and knew I would wear most of them by creating different looks. You can create great day time very minimal looks or more dramatic looks with the shimmers and darker shades.

[Shades from left to right] Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Sings, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep & Gunmetal. My favourite shades from this palette are:

Sin for a great base colour with slight shimmer

Sidecar for slight sparkle over a neutral brown or cream shade.

Hustle for creating a darker shimmer to pink tones

Creep for an intense smoky eye look that also has great sparkle.

Naked Palette 3!

Another gorgeous eye shadow palette with a mix of smooth and shimmer textures. I am a sucker for anything rose gold and one of the reasons the packaging stood out with it being a rose gold colour.  The shades of the eye shadows also have a rose gold feel to them.

The set contains 12 new shades of eyeshadows again like the naked palette including soft matte to sparkle and shimmer textures.

This is my favourite set out of the naked palettes that I own as I am loving the full range of colours that are available. I also like that I can wear some of the shades on their own during the day and then add in a different darker or shimmer shade later on for an evening look. I also feel these colours look great against my pale complexion and blue eyes as it makes them stand out even more.

[Shades from left to right] Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart.

My Favourite shades from this palette: (so hard to choose just a few!!)

Mugshot I always find myself putting this along the crease of my eye for a darker look along it.

Burnout great shade for an base and every day eye shadow look

Liar goes well with limit and burnout to create a more jazzy and shimmer look

Blackheart is a definite favourite as it is a dark burgundy/black shade with speckles of red glitter through it that looks great for a dramatic look and when the light hits it looks fantastic.

I haven't tried the Naked 2 palette but I think I may invest in it too as I haven't been let down by these palettes and recommend them as although they may be expensive you get a range of shades and textures of eye shadows that you can create many looks.

Have you tried Naked palettes? What one is your favourite? and what is your favourite shades?

SENSATIONAIL Gel Nail Kit!

 SENSATIONAIL Lamp & Gel Colours!

This post includes one of my favourite gifts I got at Christmas 2014 from my brother; the sensationail gel nail kit! After falling in love with it straight away I went a bit crazy on the sensationail website and boots and bought lots of gel colours to play with!

Sensationail is a home manicure set that gives a salon quality finish at a fraction of the price. The SensatioNail™ LED technology and unique gel formula let women achieve an easily removable high-gloss, damage proof manicure that’s simple to achieve and great for everyday wear.
The starter kit that my brother got me was the raspberry wine shade - he knows me well; I'm a sucker for anything burgundy. A starter kit includes the sensationail pro 3060 led lamp that stays on for a minute each time and beeps at 30 seconds to let you know for how long to keep your hand in the lamp!  The set also includes the following items to help create a high salon standard manicure!
Gel Nail Polish
Gel primer
Base/topcoat
Gel cleanser
12 x lint free wipes
Double-sided nail buffer
Manicure stick
How-to Booklet

The starter kit comes at a price of £69.99 which may seem expensive but you don't need to buy the lamp again or buy the accessories every time you buy another gel nail colour - just when running low. You can buy these accessories on the sensational.co.uk website individually. They also have a range of products to help with the removal of colour and brushes to create designs on nails!

I absolutely love the sensationail gel polishes due to the vast range of colours and styles available! From any colour you can think of they will most likely have in a few shades! They also have French manicure and glitter gel nail polishes.

As I said earlier I did go a bit crazy when buying a few more colours but I just couldn't help myself  as they all looked gorgeous!  Also they cost £12.99 for each nail polish colour but sensationail.co.uk had an option to get 12 for the price of 8 so I couldn't resist! The order came within a few days and one of the colours I had chosen was out of stock so got a phonecall from customer service who apologised and offered me either a refund or if I wanted to choose another colour. I asked what was similar to the shade that was out of stock and advised me on what one to pick! Couldn't be happier with the service I received!

A few of my favourites that I have worn or used on other people have been:

Mauve Mavern - Natural peachy skin tone shade

Going For Rose Gold - Glitter pink/gold shade

Miss Behave - Deep dark burgundy shade

Midnight Magic - Black with multi glitter through it

Tangerine Glitter - Clear polish with orange, peachy gold sparkles through it

The Naughty List - Glitter gel nail polish in bright red

Lovebite - Lighter burgundy/darker pink shade with slight shimmer

Another reason I love the sensationail is how quick and easy it takes to apply as it only takes 60 seconds in the lamp and the nail colour is set!
Also the long lasting wear is fantastic! I done my mum's nails few days before she went on holiday to Australia for 3 weeks and once she returned home the nail polish was still on and didn't look like it had been on that long as it had hardly any chips on the nails! Very impressed!

I 100% recommend anyone who loves painting their nails or pays to get their nails done to try this product as it is fantastic!

Have you tried Sensationail? What was your thoughts?

Enhance your Lashes!

Flitter, Flutter Of Your Lashes!

This blog post is all about my favourite false eyelashes to apply and the accessories I use to apply them and enhance my natural lashes!

False Eyelashes!

I haven't really been one for applying false lashes as I always thought it looked complicated and never thought I would be able to apply them myself.
The past few years I decided to give it a go and the set of eyelashes I picked up were a natural set from the brand eylure. I can tell you I haven't tried another brand of eyelashes as they looked fabulous and applied so easily!

A bit about the brand:
Eylure was created in 1947 by two brothers, David and Eric Aylott, renowned make-up artists to the film industry.

David an...d Eric created the product, the modern false eyelash, to answer a lack of effective cosmetic enhancement in the industry. Spotting the opportunity for the wider public, the Aylotts created a brand around their invention and called it 'Eylure' from 'Eye Allure'

The false lashes have vast range from thickness and length for a more natural look to a more dramatic and full lash look.
The three sets I have photographed are my favourite sets I have worn.

The Naturals set (No 031) are great everyday wear to add just a slight fuller look to your natural lash. Only cost £4.95.

The Volume set (No 101) are great for adding extreme thickness and creating a more dramatic look as the lashes are shorter - my favourite to wear on nights out! Only cost £5.95.

The lengthening set (No 116) are great for wearing for maybe a day time special occasion for example a wedding, as they aren't as thick for a dramatic look but add length and slight fullness to lashes to enhance the shape and open your eyes. Only costs £5.05

All these sets I have mentioned are the strip lashes that is supplied with the glue to apply yourself. I have tried the pre glued lashes before but didn't feel like they stayed on as long as the strip lashes. They last long and fit perfectly for all eye shapes! They are all re-usable for a few wears and come with step by step guide and tips on how to apply them!

They also have sets available for beginners that comes with an applicator and trial lashes to practice!

If you want to try wearing eyelashes then definitely check out Eylure lashes!

Accessories!

A few products that I like to use when applying lashes or even just everyday instead of false eyelashes to give them a fuller look.

Although  the Eylure false lashes do supply you with the glue I do find the applicator and the small bottle a bit fiddly! I recently purchased the Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive (£3.56 from Tesco) and have been using ever since when applying false lashes!

It dries fast and clear, has a ultra thin brush and goes on easily!

A useful tip for when applying false lashes with glue, apply the glue to lashes wait 20 to 30 seconds for glue to partly dry and become sticky then apply lashes to your lash line!

Every time I apply make up I like to use the Cosmopolitan Eyelash Curlers for £4.99 as I feel it helps to curl lashes and make them appear longer in length.

A useful tip for when using eyelash curlers is to never use them once you have applied mascara as this will make eyelashes stick to clamps and pull individual lashes out from the root! Always use before applying mascara!

Do you wear falsh eyelashes? What type are your favourite, natural or for more dramatic look?
